Welcome to Just Because!

.As a retired educator/administrator (38 years in Shenandoah County Public Schools) and a past Shenandoah County School Board member (12 years) I know what a hard job educators in all categories have today. The Shenandoah County Retired Teacher Association, of which I am past president, District president and State president-elect, is a supporter of Just Because and the wonderful work done to support educators.   Getting treats and recognition from Just Because means the world to friends who are active educators now.  They are often criticized by parents and do not feel much support from the community.  A positive feature by Just Because is that all categories of educators are recognized and given treats. Often bus drivers, educational assistants, clerical workers, custodians,  and other non-teachers are left out, but are vitally important to the education of children.  Just Because remembers them.  As a frequent packer and donor of items needed, and supporter of fundraisers, I completely support a grant to Just Because.  (Submitted in support of grant from the United Way.)

 I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of the support Just Because provides to each and every one of the SCPS employees. It seems to come at much needed times throughout the years and serves to help us know we are not alone, supported by the community by so many people, and keeps us going forward in all we do to serve and educate so many children. Your thoughtfulness is amazing and we can only imagine the myriad of acts that have to occur to make it happen. Just Because. We love you and all you do! Thank you.

Thank you for the delicious lunch you provided today at WWR Elementary School.  What a nice treat.  In these days of negativity, blaming and division, our organization proves it is possible to lift others up with simple acts and encouraging words. And of course, yummy treats.  Your thoughts and acts are much appreciated.
